DNS Audit

DNS Audit is a diagnostic tool that helps identify DNS misconfigurations by scanning IP address ranges and verifying reverse and forward DNS resolution.

It checks if each IP address has a valid PTR record (reverse lookup), then performs a forward DNS query on the resulting hostname to see if it maps back to the original IP.

This two-step verification process helps detect: - Inconsistent or missing PTR records - Forward/reverse mismatches - DNS resolution loops or stale records

You can scan entire subnets or custom IP ranges. The results show hostnames, matching status, and response info — helping you catch errors that often go unnoticed in DNS zones.

It's particularly useful for:
